one of those days

yesterday was a bad day. just one of those days when nothing really bad happens, just a lot of little things that accumulate and make it not very fun. so, that's how my day was. just a lot of little bad things. until about 3 o clock. then something really bad happened. which was the icing on the already bad cake. (and i hate cake)

so......a little bit grumpy, and really tired i get off work and decide i'm going to make myself feel better. my mom told me she'd buy me an easter dress, and i've known exactly what i want for some time-so i was going to treat myself to a brand new dress. i headed to the mall, in decent spirits, walked into the store, grabbed what i wanted, paid for it and was on my way out in less than three minutes. as i was walking out the door i checked my pockets and start to panic. oh no, where are my keys?? but i already knew, they were in my car. i was praying the whole way to the car "pleasse pleasssse be unlocked." but did i get that lucky? of course not. well....you think that's bad. guess who's cell phone was also in the locked car. gooood one macey.

also, i don't have a spare key to my car. never have, probably never will.

i stood outside of my car for probably 20 minutes trying to figure out what i'm supposed to do and trying not to cry. (please keep in mind, that i never cry) so, the only person's phone number i know by heart (besides my families) is brian's. but he was at work...and i wasn't sure what time he was going to get off. [probably not for a couple of hours] but since he was my only hope..i decided i'd go into jcpennys and call him.

i go to customer service, and they tell me their phones don't dial out, unless you go to the catalog desk. so i go upstairs to the catalog desk, and of course the lady that is working has to be the grouchiest lady in the world. she couldn't help me for about 15 minutes because she was busy chewing out her husband on the phone. (apparently he forgot to pay the cell phone bill.) after waiting there for about fifteen minutes she gets off the phone and i asked her if i can use the phone. thank goodness she said yes, and then put in like a ten digit code before i could dial out.

brian is pretty good at returning my texts/calls when he's at work. he works at the mtc so sometimes when i'm calling he can just step out of the classroom and take it. or if he's not able to do that he'll call me/text me back when he can. which usually never takes long. but i knew he wasn't going to answer the phone of a random number calling him. and i didn't think he wasn't going to be able to call me back-because that ten digit number the lady typed in was pretty complicated. so, i left him a message. which consisted of: my keys and phone are locked in my car, and i don't know what to do. call me back if you CAN.....if not i'll just try to call you in a couple of hours. (but of course i forgot to mention the fact that i was at jcpenny.)

not knowing what to do after that i sat down on one of the chairs and decided i'd call him again in 45 minutes. (i was too scared to ask the lady any sooner then that) plus she was back on the phone with her husband, yelling.

well, about five minutes later the phone started ringing.....and ringing and ringing. she couldn't answer it because she was "busy." i couldn't help but thinking..."that's probably brian." but there was nothing i could do about it...so it just kept ringing and ringing. then, about five minutes after THAT a spanish lady's voice came over the store intercom. "macey jones.....sadflasdkfjldkj" (i didn't understand anything except my name, because of her accent.) she repeated the same thing like three times, but i didn't know what to do! was i supposed to go somewhere downstairs? stay put? call brian back? ugh. instead, i just kept sitting.

the mean lady was finally off the phone and had a line of about ten customers. when the phone rang and she [finally] answered it. you could tell she was overwhelmed and super annoyed, but she looked at me and said "macey jones, you're wanted on the phone." it was brian. hooray.

after brian drove down to hang out with me, he called 5 different locksmiths and found the cheapest one, and then $50 bucks later...he told me how he got ahold of me. apparently he called the number i called from back and got: "welcome to jcpenny....choose which department you would like to speak to." of course he didn't know where i was in the store. so he just tried his best guess. first, the women's department. next, women's dresses. (that's where the spanish lady paged me) last, women's shoes. (and that's where the guy told him i probably called from the catalog desk and connected him there)

pretty sure if our positions would have been reversed i would have given up as soon as i dialed jcpenny because i wouldn't have known what else to do. and probably would have just waited for him to call me again. but not brian. he would spend 45 minutes trying to figure out where i am.....and rescue me from the mean lady. moral of the story: he is the best fiance.

thank goodness for this boy.
[the hat is proof that it was just a bad day. bad hair and all]

my new favorite posession:

photobooth just doesn't do my ring justice, that's why i wasn't planning on posting a picture. (broken camera)  but you would not believe how many people have gotten after me because i haven't yet, so here it is.

my sweet fiance got me exactly, [exactly] what i wanted. bless his heart.

and here's another picture, not on photobooth, but still doesn't do it justice.

it's already been two weeks and i still can't stop glancing down at my left hand every five minutes. im sure you all remember how that goes?
well...i'm lovin it. :)

lovin the word fiancé

so the rumors are true. i've got a ring on my left finger. [and a gorgeous one at that]
we did things a little bit backward, i planned my wedding AND THEN got engaged.
and....i blame that on my parents living in brasil-it requires plans to be made 6 months in advance.

soo....with a date, and the wedding all planned...of course i knew the ring was coming. The designer had  told us that he could have my ring done in 10 days. and it'd had been 14 aaaaat least. i kept asking bri questions...being super annoying...but brian kept his little mouth shut.

SO.....of course i know something's going on when brian tells me he's planning our whole friday evening. i was excited...
but that quickly changed when he came home friday afternoon after class to  tell me that Renae had called him and left him a message (Renae is our ring designer)....it went something like this:
"hey bri, it's friday at noon....im just calling to tell you we got your ring in today, but they did it all wrong..made it in yellow gold instead of white. so we won't have it back in for another week to ten days. sorry man."
well, my whole days was ruined.

but of course we stuck to the original plan. bri took me to dinner @ the first restaurant we went to when we were first dating, i think it was our second official date. and then we went to the park to play frisbee. (side note: bri and i played frisbee out on the grass right outside our complex with each other ALL the time--before we even started dating. we were just friends. we'd go out and play for hours...and just talk. about school, about life, about each other's love interests...etc etc. funny, i know. we also had our first kiss @ this park.) So...there we were playing frisbee....and i start singing a song. "whip my hair" if you have never heard it look it up, its obnoxious..and quite catchy. but brian thought this particular song was a bad song to "play frisbee too." me: "um....okay." so he whips out his iphone and puts on my favorite song of all time. called "favorite girl." so both of us are just throwing the frisbee....singing along...i suspect nothing.

well then the song ends...and bri keeps singing...which isn't unusual...i still suspect nothing. until he starts walking towards me and when i throw the frisbee to him he lets it drop to the ground. "UM....what are you doing???" well he was still singing ....."don't you know she is my favorite girl..i wanna run away for days with her..and if you promise not to say a thing....i'm going to buy that girl a diamond ring...." and there it is, he pulls the most beautiful ring i've ever seen out of his pocket. he then got on his knees...said  some pretty amazing things about me and asked me to marry him.
and of course, i said yes. :)

i can't wait to be this boys wife. :)
on JULY 1st.

feelin proud

today was the last home byu basketball game of the season. it was awesome. not only was it byu's last game, but it was jimmer's last [home] game. ever. talk about bittersweet.  i love basketball, but mostly i love byu basketball. being part of that huge mass of people all cheering for the same thing feels good. i was so  proud to be a cougar today.  here's a little video of one of my favorite parts of the game.

awesome right??
i'm top right, in the white shirt...

also, as of last night i'm an engaged girl.
story and pictures to come. :)

if you need a good laugh....

seriously, it takes a pretty good youtube video to crack me up.
i've seen this a million times, and every time it's funnier than the time before.

i was feeling very confident that i am nothing like this--but my friend quickly informed me we all are. great.

the jimmer

oh the joys of winter semester @ byu. but, being completely honest there is no joy at all. don't get me wrong, i love byu, and i don't even mind the winter THAT much, but this semester is rough. fall semester goes much more smoothly. it's warm and the leaves are changing color-which makes for perfect running weather, you've just had a four month break from school so you're almost excited to start again, and then not only is there thanksgiving break and christmas break to look forward t0o, but there is halloween, my birthday, byu football games etc.
winter semester goes more like this: 10 degree mornings, more school (after just finishing a semester), no spring break--yeah pretty sure that should be illegal. and no other breaks to look forward to at all, the snow doesn't leave completely until about april, but it doesn't snow enough to keep it pretty and white. it's more like left over hard snow in random patches which means ugliness.
but we have found a bit of sunshine in our gloomy provo bubble this time of year. and it's called byu basketball. namely jimmer fredette. he's nothing new, but for some reason this year byu fans are much more excited about him.(i've been a number one fan for three years) but it's his senior year, and he puts on a show every. single. game. without fail. we are loving him.
well there's been some jimmer drama lately. a girl wrote to the daily universe (our school paper) and complained about hearing jimmer's name all over the place. she's sick of hearing it. saying that we shouldn't be "worshipping" or "idolizing" jimmer. i for one, was offended. as well as the rest of byu's student body/ all of provo/and every jimmer fan (which goes much further than byu and provo) needless to say this girl hasn't and probably never will hear the end of it. poor thing. here are just a few of the great things that have been posted on her wall/all over facebook. (everyone's talking about jimmer...it's awesome)
i guess you didn't hear the news, edward dumped bella for jimmer.
i enjoy me some fredette for breakfast lunch and jimmer.
someone wrote: "do i get something for being the 100th comment??" reply: "you get a small golden jimmer statue."
the BYu basketball team was walking down the beach, they turned around and only saw one set of footprints.
jimmer can speak french-in russian.
jimmer never said it would be easy, he only said it would be worth it.
the only way you're stopping Jimmer...is when the game ends.
why did jimmer cross the road? because he got tired of crossing over tre'von.
while playin scrabble if you happen to spell the word jimmer you automatically win, forever.
who would win a fight between the hulk, and superman? jimmer
jimmers hand is the only one that can beat a royal flush.
jimmer is not addicted to cocaine, cocaine is addicted to jimmer.
WWJD--what would jimmer do?
jimmer can kill 2 stones, with one bird.
everytime a bell rings, jimmer hits another three.
jimmer once lapped someone..in a 50 yard dash.
president monson wears jimmer pajamas to bed.

"You ever watched basketball with a smile?” Gary Parrish writes at CBS Sports. “That’s what Fredette does to you – unless, of course, he happens to be dropping ridiculous shots on your favorite team.”
"the only way to stop jimmer in practice is to foul him, because we don't call fouls." -dave rose
definition of jimmer on wikipedia: a jimmer: someone who is in range, as soon as they step off the bus.
on a poster @ a bball game: jimmer will you marry my sister? the next week the same guy was holding the same poster, but he had writtten something new on the back: "forget about my sister!! will you marry me??"
well, there you have it. funny stuff right? like i said, everyone is going crazy. like me for example, i have three tests to study for, but instead i keep going to that facebook thread and laughing hysterically. if the poor girl thought people were talking about jimmer before, she must be going crazy now, it's definitely the hot topic of conversation. and im loving it.
and then there's this. everyone needs to watch this video:
